International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) — American developer of hardware, software, server equipment and consulting services provider. The company was founded in 1911 under CTR name and was devoted to computer production. In 1924 it changed its name to IBM. Since 1943 the company was specializing in PC mass production, including machinery for USAF. In 1981 IBM basically creates PC market, having released IBM PC — the first mass produced personal computer which had been taking leading positions up to 1984. Nowadays IBM is the largest software developer and consultant.
