HollyFrontier Corporation is an independent energy company engaged in oil refining and wholesale of petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel fuel and aircraft fuel. The company’s work is divided into two segments: Refining and Holly Energy Partners. Refining consists of refineries El Dorado, Tulsa, Navajo, Cheyenne and Woods Cross, as well as NK Asphalt.Holly Energy Partners is a carrier of oil and oil products and the owner of various pipelines, tankers and oil loading racks in the Midwest and the Rocky Mountains region in the United States.The company was founded in 1947 as General Appli ance Corporation, changed its name to Holly Corporation in 1952. It became public by registering with AMEX in 1955. It became part of the Fortune 500 in 1982. In 2001, the company merged with Frontier Oil Corporation, taking the new name HollyFrontier Corporation and IPO, issuing stocks on the NYSE, was acquired by Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. in 2017, after which HollyFrontier Corporation became one of the four largest US lubricant companies.
